Exciting news from collaborators in Tanzania! The MDOTtrial ,whose main intervention is self-video recording of the participant while taking medication, requires the use of mobile smart phones. However, due to budget, the study was not able to purchase mobile smart phones for enrolled individuals in the intervention group.
In a meeting held on 20th Feb 2015, Vodacom Foundation agreed to donate mobile phones for this study. Subsequently, on 19th Mar 2015, Vodacom Foundation handed over 150 mobile phones to the sickle cell team in a brief ceremony at Muhimbili National Hospital.
